Gabriola Island is located in the Strait of Georgia, between Vancouver Island and the mainland of BC, approximately 3 miles or 5 km east of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Gabriola is easily reached by a 20 minute ferry ride from downtown Nanaimo, or by floatplane from Vancouver (15 miles/24 km).
